Fossil Free Investments at TD Bank
TD loves to present a green image, from tree planting to committing to net-zero financed emissions by 2050. Yet, TD Bank has yet to turn these words into actions and continues to be the second-largest financer of fossil fuel expansion projects in Canada. As of July 2022, TD does not manage any fossil-free investment products in-house. With TD Securities serving as a structuring advisor for the Government of Canada in green bond issuance, we hope to see this change. This is solely a directory and not financial advice.
In Branch
Fossil-free investment options are not offered in TD branches, unless if you are a private wealth client. Advisors will likely discuss the sustainability characteristics of their mutual funds, but all of them contain a high percentage of holdings in fossil-fuel companies. If you are looking to invest in-person, you will need to look for an independent advisor or one at another financial institution.
Online
TD Direct Investing allows the purchase of exchange traded funds listed on our ETF Portfolios and Specialized ETFs pages. The platform collects a fee per trade. Note that this offering does not include financial guidance.
